Oral History Interview with Ben and Bessie Glass, 1978 October 22-1979 August 1
Ben and Bessie Glass both came to the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society (JCRS) as patients in 1928. Bessie Glass was treated for six years. They met in the hospital and married in 1931. Ben Glass was a printer at the JCRS bindery from 1928 through 1978. They discuss how the JCRS was like a large family of young adults from all over the country and talk about what life was like at the JCRS. They also talk about the transition from JCRS to AMC Cancer Center.

Topics covered include family history in Denver (6 generations at time of interview), mechanical engineer but when no work during depression worked as a hosiery salesmen with Jack Levy; married Dorothy Schwayder (daughter of Jesse Schwayder, founder of Samsonite). Time on NJH board and joining the Community Chest, move from Tuberculosis focus to asthma, medicine, merging and expanding facilities.

Interview discusses life in Hungary, immigration to Argentina, life in Argentina, immigration to the United States and life in New York and Denver. Contracted tuberculosis in New York, came Denver and was at NJH for about one year.

Rose Stuhlbarg details Jewish life on the West Side of Denver, Colo. She also talks about her parents who emigrated from Russia. Her father practiced folk-medicine and her mother was a midwife. She mentions the Yiddish theater in Denver. She discusses her life after her first husband died, and the Depression years in Denver. Her first husband was murdered while on the Denver Police Force in 1919.

Goldie Bolshen: Born in Romania but doesn't remember country, came to Denver because her sister had TB, National Jewish Hospital.
Abe Goldberg: Parents from Russia, born in Denver, father worked in sheet metal, what he did growing up, grandfather, related to Max Goldberg, talks about father, school life, community life, family life, made wash boilers. Talks about buying fish with his mother, local stores.
